Winter Coats+ Drive A Success
St. John’s annual Winter Coats and Accessories Drive was held November 1-5. Gerald Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch, again was the recipient.
Thank you to all who donated. We had a great response! A full carload of warm coats and accessories, utilitarian men’s clothing and new underwear and socks was delivered on November 5. Thank you also for the generous and immediate response for toiletries, an additional special request from Gerald Ryan. St. John’s parishioners' donations are especially needed this year as Gerald Ryan has experienced a 35% increase in the clients they serve. As we approach the holiday season, like so many of our outreach partners, they anticipate having more clients than in years past. The Outreach Center provides food, clothing, and case management to their clients.
A special thank you to our volunteers who attended the “sorting party” on Election Day, especially our youth volunteers, the Kamdars, Janowitzes, and Pollachs. They were amazingly speedy and smart!
