Concert by The Pond: Zandieh Trio | St. John's Episcopal Church

Our Concerts program had a wonderful start with the premiere performance by the Zandieh Trio. Over 100 people attended this wonderful event which even included the premier of a piece composed by the cellist, Charles Zandieh.

Special thanks to our Concert Committee Mary Jo Balkind, Dan Barbiero, Diana Collins, George Lindsay, Bryce Westervelt, and Carole Weitner for their incredible work coordinating and supporting the concert.

Our series continues with a performance by Chris Houlihan on the Cassavant Freres Organ of St. John's Church on Sunday, November 13 at 3 pm.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
