Oyster Bay Music Festival | St. John's Episcopal Church

St. John’s has been a principal sponsor of the Oyster Bay Music Festival since it’s inception. This year is no different.

We are pleased to have “hosted” a concert for the festival this year last Sunday evening. We hope you will take a half an hour from your busy day and enjoy this incredible display of talent from these young musicians. The concert is inspiring and uplifting- all we hope from this powerful association with the Oyster Bay Music Festival.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
