St. John's Day Camp
St. John’s Day Camp has been serving young children in the Huntington area for over 40 years. It has been funded in part through contributions of individual parishioners and friends of St. John’s Church. It serves eighty children, ages four to six years old, for six weeks. This day camp is a program of enrichment, and it is staffed with professionals from the Huntington area. The camp provides transportation, breakfast and hot lunches for the children, all of whom are residents of the Huntington–area community. For many of them, this is the most nurturing and structured environment they will experience in their early childhood years. We need your continuing support in both donations and volunteer participation — even the smallest contribution makes a big difference in the lives of these children.

Volunteer at St. John's Day Camp
- Read a Book - Grab your favorite children’s book and read it aloud. We also have a wonderful list of recommended books for their age group.
- Share a Talent or Craft - Come into the classroom and share your passion. For example, you can lead the children in painting, dancing, singing, etc. Or simply bring in a craft project or game to play. Teenagers are very welcome!
- Help at the Rectory Picnic - Each summer the campers visit the Fish Hatchery and have lunch at the Rectory. It’s a great day and we’d love your help.
- Describe Your Career - Inspire and entertain at the same time! You can give the children a quick overview of a job using books, crafts or simple demonstrations.
