Vision 2020 Stewardship Campaign
In the second year of our Vision 2020 campaign, our stewardship team is highlighting two practices that we invite our congregation to consider taking on that will vastly improve the church’s finances and financial stability: pledging and participating. Before our Vision 2020 campaign, 23% of our congregation participated in making an annual pledge to St. John’s. We are trying to increase pledge participation and improve the financial health of the church.
A pledge is a declaration of intention to donate a specific amount of money to the church to support our mission and ministry in the year to come. It’s not legally binding, but it is an important indication of funds we may count on during the year. We ask that you consider pledging any amount that is comfortable for you as an act of giving thanks for all that God has given to you.
Annual pledges support everything we do at St. John’s. Our yearly budget is driven by the generosity of our parishioners through annual pledges. While we’re grateful for all gifts made to St. John’s, pledges are particularly important because they help church leadership to plan responsibly and confidently establish a parish budget for the coming year.
How do I pledge?
You can make a pledge in one of many easy ways:
- Pick up a Pledge Card available at the Stewardship Table in the narthex, or download a PDF version here. Then, after prayerful consideration, fill it out and drop the envelope in the collection plate, or turn it into the church office.
- Click HERE to declare your pledge and submit your Pledge Card online.
- Got to our website https://www.stjcsh.org/ and click on the “Give” button in the upper right hand corner.
- E-mail Billy Wresch ([email protected]).
How do I pay my pledge?
Some people pay their pledge in a lump sum while others prefer to pay incrementally. Setting up a recurring weekly or monthly payment at your bank is increasingly popular, and it’s easy. A predetermined amount can be withdrawn directly from your checking account, or charged on either your credit or debit card. You can also set up recurring payments through our on-line community and giving tool REALM.
Is it possible to pay my pledge with stock or securities?
Absolutely! For more information about this option, please contact Billy Wresch ([email protected]).
