Ariel and Britt formed their duo after becoming co-winners of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition’s Ambassador Prize. In doing so, the Duo quickly discovered their shared passion for post-genre and contemporary music, promoting systemic change, and centering equity and access in musical spaces — as well as a craving for soup dumplings and Starbucks, respectively. The Duo’s recent tours take them to communities across North America, performing their “Genre-Fication” program which explores the exciting, underexplored sound world of violin and percussion.
Vision Duo has attended the prestigious Avaloch Farm Music Institute as artists-inresidence, and performed for top presenters including the Phillips Collection, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, and Dumbarton Concerts in Washington, D.C. The Duo’s 22-23 season included debut concerts at the Krannert Center, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, and the Fairmont Chamber Music Society, featuring their program Electrovision: a blending of acoustic, electronic, and multidisciplinary experiences.
Ariel Horowitz Hailed by The Washington Post as “sweetly lyrical,” Ariel Horowitz cannot remember life before loving music. Prizewinner at the Menuhin, Grumiaux, Stulberg, and Klein International Competitions, Ariel also received a Salon De Virtuosi Career Grant in 2017 and the 2019 Broadus Erle Award in Violin from the Yale School of Music. Ariel is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Heartbeat Music Project, a nonprofit that offers music education for Navajo (Diné) K-12 students living on the Navajo Reservation.
Britton-René Collins As a young emerging soloist, Britton-René Collins finds passion in the art of contemporary percussion performance. A winner of the 2020 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, Britton-René has dedicated her artistry to shaping a more diverse and inclusive community for all musicians in which to thrive equally. Recent highlights include Britton-René’s debut with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, in addition to touring a new commission by Clarice Assad with pianist Lara Downes.
