Although our church calendar looks quiet, like we are taking a break, we have been busy behind the scenes working on projects. The B & G committee, for example, brought in a crew this week to scrape and paint our steeple which has been showing its age, faded and weathered. It has been years since this was given attention. On Sunday be sure to look up at the shiny new paint job, and enjoy the wonderful sounds of bells ringing through its green louvered sides.

Wayne, our sexton, has been tending to gardens and shrubs this month, trimming and weeding.

Work also continues on behalf of the pond’s aging weir. We are deeply concerned that it continues to weaken; it has been decades since it was replaced. So, we had hired an engineering firm to develop draw plans and write procedures for its replacement. Between revisions to initial plans and detailed email correspondence this month, we are preparing everything necessary for what we hope will be the DEC’s final approval.

Do visit us, bring lunch, sit in our Gazebo, behold the pond’s beauty, and marvel at the amazingly diverse wildlife. It’s a nice place to pray as well. You can even pray that our application is quickly approved by the DEC!
